Lancet Clubtail

Lancet Clubtail Gomphus exilis

Common around St-Lazare at least but another tricky ID.

You will note that the species text is pretty limited in the posts so far but it will increase as I learn more.

This species flies from the end of May to early August.

This one looks like a female Beaverpond Clubtail. The last image of the set is a different dragonfly, a male clubtail of some sort. I didn't find it in the Algonquin guide. You might find it described in the Dragonfly through Binoculars book. The last couple of days has been productive for me. I got a Eastern Least Clubtail, a Rusty Snaketail and a river with lots of Powdered Dancers. I live in North Bay, Ontario. Brent
